The presentation about Orson Welles.

According to Piper and Lingling's presentation, they mentioned about ' The war of the worlds'. It was a 1938 radio dramatisation by Orson Welles.

Orson Welles was an American actor, writer, director and producer. He was famous in radio, film and theatre. His first film was Citizen Kane, which he co-wrote, produced, directed, and starred in as Charles Foster Kane. Welles was an outsider to the studio system and directed only 13 full-length films in his career. Because of this, he struggled for creative control from the major film studios, and his films were either heavily edited or remained unreleased. His distinctive directorial style featured layered and nonlinear narrative forms, innovative uses of lighting  such as chiaroscuro, unusual camera angles, sound techniques borrowed from radio, deep focus shots, and long takes. He has been praised as a major creative force and as "the ultimate auteur".
According to their presentation, they introduced that Sound-based media through eight aspects: interview, news bulletins, coverage, reactions, changing scene, voice acting, chain of events, and silence. They also share a video about the radio drama.

According to what they said, the effect of this kind of radio is:
- It is the first time this realistic technique was use.
- It caused alleged mass panic.
- Through extent of panic is disputed.

Soundwalk.

A soundwalk is an excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment. Moreover, the soundwalk is also used as artistic medium by visual artists and documentary makers.
